Prime Minister Modi's visit to Egypt commenced with a lively reception from the Indian diaspora at a Cairo hotel, signalling the beginning of an eventful trip.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Egypt began on Saturday (June 24) with a warm and exuberant reception from members of the Indian diaspora upon his arrival at a hotel in Cairo. The Egyptian Indian community eagerly awaited his arrival, displaying their excitement and heartfelt welcome as they gathered to greet the Indian leader. PM Modi was greeted with a ceremonial welcome and a guard of honour upon his arrival earlier in the day. At the Cairo airport, he was met by his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly.
Modi is in Egypt at the invitation of Egyptian President El-Sisi. This is the first bilateral visit to Egypt by an Indian Prime Minister in 26 years.
Members of the Indian community greeted the Prime Minister with chants of 'Modi, Modi' and 'Vande Mataram' as he arrived at the hotel in Cairo, waving the Indian tricolour.

Egyptian Woman Welcomes PM Modi With 'Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge' Song:
An Egyptian woman dressed in a saree pleasantly surprised PM Modi with a heartwarming gesture. She greeted him by singing the popular song 'Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge' from the iconic Bollywood film 'Sholay'.
The Prime Minister was seen appreciating the song and expressing surprise when the lady stated that she knew very little Hindi and had never visited India.
"Kisi ko pata bhi nahi chalega ki aap Misr ki beti ho ya Hindustan ki beti ho ((Nobody will be able to tell whether you are an Egyptian woman or an Indian woman)," Prime Minister Modi said.
Indian Community In Egypt Excited To Meet PM Modi In Cairo:
Members of the Indian Community Association in Egypt are anticipating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's arrival in Cairo with bated breath.
"We are all very excited to meet PM Modi in Cairo," said Deepti Singh, President of the Indian Community Association in Egypt. "Today, 300-350 people have been invited to meet with the Prime Minister," she was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

On Sunday, Modi will meet Egyptian President El-Sisi.
The Prime Minister will participate in a roundtable discussion with the Egypt Cabinet's India Unit, led by his Egyptian counterpart Madbouly.
Modi will meet with Egypt's Grand Mufti, Dr Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam, and then meet with prominent Egyptian intellectuals.
Modi will visit the 11th-century Al-Hakim mosque on Sunday, which was renovated with the help of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
The Bohra community in India is descended from the Fatima dynasty, and they have renovated the mosque since the 1970s.
