Pak PM Nawaz Sharif cancels his address on Kashmir issue

New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has cancelled his address to the nation on Kashmir issue, according to Pakistan media reports. With an aim to cash in on the issue of unrest in the Kashmir valley after Hizbul Mujahedeen Burhan Wani’s killing, Pakistan on Thursday will be observing a ‘black day’ to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir. While addressing a cabinet meeting in Lahore on July 15, Sharid had announced to observe July 19 as a black day, but Pakistan observes July 19 as ‘Accession to Pakistan’ day; therefore, the Black-day was shifted to July 20. Earlier, External Affairs Ministery spokesperson Vikas Swarup had slammed Pakistan over Kashmir issue by saying “India rejects decisions taken by Pakistan cabinet over Jammu and Kashmir issue”. After Burhan’s death, Kashmir is on boil and around 44 people have been killed and 3,000 have been injured after violent protests broke out between the youth and the security men.
