'Harvard Is A Joke, Teaches Hate And Stupidity': Trump's Fresh Attack

The fierce attack by the US President comes a day after Trump threatened to tax Harvard as "a political entity" and his administration freezzing $2.2 billion federal funding to the university.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday continued his attack on Harvard University, claiming that the elite University has been hiring all "woke, Radical Left, idiots and birdbrains."

The fierce attack by the US President comes a day after Trump threatened to tax Harvard as "a political entity" and his administration freezzing $2.2 billion federal funding to the university.

"Everyone knows that Harvard has “lost its way.” They hired, from New York (Bill D) and Chicago (Lori L), at ridiculously high salaries/fees, two of the WORST and MOST INCOMPETENT mayors in the history of our Country, to “teach” municipal management and government," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

"These two Radical Left fools left behind two cities that will take years to recover from their incompetence and evil. Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and “birdbrains” who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students and so-called “future leaders," he added.

He criticised the institution for hiring former mayors Bill de Blasio and Lori Lightfoot, calling them “two of the worst and most incompetent mayors” now being paid “ridiculously high salaries” to teach governance.

"Look just to the recent past at their plagiarizing President, who so greatly embarrassed Harvard before the United States States Congress. When it got so bad that they just couldn’t take it anymore, they moved this grossly inept woman into another position, teaching, rather than firing her ON THE SPOT," the president said.

He said Harvard is a joke, that teaches "hate and stupidity and should no longer receive federal funds."

What Is The Harvard Controversy?

At the center of the feud is the Trump administration’s war on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Officials have linked DEI policies to division, antisemitism, and “woke indoctrination.”

The administration has already moved to cut federal research grants and student aid to schools promoting DEI-heavy agendas. Harvard, which received over $676 million in federal funds in 2024, now faces financial pressure tied directly to its institutional values.

Earlier on Monday, Trump announced that his administration would freeze $2.2 billion in federal funding to the Harvard. He also warned Harvard University that its tax-exempt status could be revoked if it keeps pushing what he claimed "political, ideological and terrorist-inspired sickness".

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump threatened to tax Harvard as a "political entity" after the elite university refused to comply with a list of demands by the White House.

Tensions escalated following the resignation of Harvard’s first Black president, Claudine Gay, amid plagiarism allegations and backlash over her congressional testimony on antisemitism.

Trump called the university’s decision to retain her as a faculty member “grossly incompetent,” claiming it reflects Harvard’s failure to hold leadership accountable.

Weaponizing Education Policy

This attack is part of Trump’s broader 2025 agenda: reclaiming education from what he calls “woke elites.” His policies now include proposals to defund institutions promoting DEI, review military library content, and implement ideological tests for federal grants. These measures are based on the belief that elite universities like Harvard are teaching students to hate their own country.

Harvard Fires Back

In a powerful rebuttal, interim president Alan Garber issued a letter defending Harvard’s autonomy. He wrote: “No government, regardless of which party is in power, should dictate what private universities can teach, who they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”

The conflict between Trump and Harvard isn’t just political, it’s philosophical. At stake is the future of free thought, academic independence, and the role of higher education in American democracy.
