Coronavirus | Global Confirmed Cases Cross 190,000; Over 7800 Deaths Reported: WHO
Coronavirus: As per WHO risk assessment, the risk of spread and impact of the coronavirus is now "very high" at a global level, the highest level of alarm.
New Delhi: The number of global infections of the COVID-19 pandemic neared the 200,000 mark on Wednesday, and the global fatalities inched closer to the 8000 mark. As per data compiled by the World Health Organisation, based on report by national authorities by 00:00 CET 18 March 2020, globally 191,127 people across the globe are Coronavirus positive, with 15,123 new cases in last 24 hours. The contagion has claimed 7,807 lives so far, including the 786 new addition in the count.
The Western-Pacific region and the European region recorded the maximum number of cases and deaths across the world.
As per WHO risk assessment, the risk of spread and impact of the coronavirus is now "very high" at a global level, the highest level of alarm.
