Moved To Sydney For 'Dream Job', Indian Auditor Dies After Falling From Terrace, Seen Crying Before Death: Report
Sydney: Indian chartered accountant Aishwarya Venkatachalam was allegedly escorted out by security from a work gathering before her death. She was seen crying in a nearby car park, as per witnesses.
New Delhi: A 27-year-old Indian chartered accountant Aishwarya Venkatachalam who was employed with Ernst and Young in Sydney has reportedly died after falling from the terrace of Ernst and Young’s skyscraper.
The incident happened on August 27 around 12:20 AM in Sydney’s CBD, according to the Daily Mail Australia report. The report claims that Aishwarya was ‘crying her eyes out’ in a nearby car park before death. Employed as a Senior Auditor at Ernst and Young, she was described by her uncle Balasubramanian as “educated, beautiful and brilliant".
“I do not know how this could happen. Her mother and father are very caring and kind. They were supporting her, and she was supporting of them. Her body has not been released. The police are still conducting an investigation. We have no idea what happened. We are trying to seek answers," Venkatachalam's uncle told Daily Mail.
The coroner’s report on her death is still being prepared and it's not clear when her body will be brought back to India, the report quoted a New South Wales Police spokesperson as saying.
Who Was Aishwarya Venkatachalam?
Aishwarya finished her bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance in 2015 at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce in Pune. As per her LinkedIn profile, the young auditor had worked for three years at Grant Thorton before moving to Ernst and Young for a ‘dream job’. She moved to Ernst & Young 11 months ago. Aishwarya is married and her husband was on his way to Sydney from Singapore on a flight at the time of her death, the Daily Mail reported.

The report further mentioned witnesses as stating that Aishwarya was seen crying in a nearby car park saying “all white people are racists". The CCTV footage has shown her going back to the building between 7 PM and 7:30 PM.
The report said Aishwarya was suspected to have been escorted out from an EY work gathering at the Ivy by security. After the witness approached her along with two others trying to help her out, Aishwarya initially flinched and said: “All white people are racist." The witness informed Aishwarya repeatedly kept saying she had been kicked out of her work function.
“She said that over 10 times whilst crying her eyes out. She was having a panic attack and had been drinking but wasn't completely drunk. Once we calmed her down, she said she needed to get into her work office at EY as she forgot her house key and they wouldn't let her up [but] she had her swipe tag," the witness added, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
