Afghanistan Taliban Crisis LIVE: Taliban on Tuesday held their first press conference at the Government Media and Information Centre (GMIC) in Kabul. During the presser, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid cleared out the Taliban government's stand on various issues including women's rights, foreign affairs, and others.
During the press conference, Taliban vowed to respect women's rights but within the norms of Islamic law, though he gave few details. Mujahid said that Taliban are committed to providing women, their rights based on Islam. He also clarified that women can work in the health sector and other sectors where they are needed.
Britain will work with other countries to avoid a humanitarian disaster in Afghanistan and any recognition of the new government must be on an international basis, Prime Minister Boris Johnson told his Pakistani counterpart on Tuesday.
"The Prime Minister stressed his commitment to work with international partners to avoid a humanitarian disaster in Afghanistan and the wider region," a Downing Street spokesperson said after the call with Pakistan's Imran Khan.
Pakistan is in touch with other countries and would decide on the recognition of the Taliban government in Afghanistan on the basis of a regional decision, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Tuesday. Addressing a press conference after a Cabinet meeting, he said that Pakistan would not take a unilateral decision about the takeover of Kabul by the Taliban. We are in touch with our friends, both in (this) region and internationally, and we will decide accordingly, Chaudhry said.

US Troops Fired Warning Shots At Kabul Airport: Pentagon
The US Military says it's talking regularly with the Taliban to help get Afghans into the airport and also to improve the paperwork process, including for Afghans who have applied for Special Immigrant Visas.
Kirby also said that U.S. troops have fired warning shots along the airport perimeter as a crowd control measure. He said there are now about 4,500 U.S. troops on the ground to secure the airport and help the airlift, and several hundred more are expected to flow in over the next 24 hours.
