This is not the first blast in the last few days in Kabul. On April 19, a bomb blast on a school in western Kabul killed six and injured 11.

Zadran had told AFP that the blasts at the Abdul Rahim Shahid school were caused by improvised explosive devices and left at least six people dead and 11 wounded.

"These are preliminary figures. We are at the site and waiting for more details," he had said.

Another blast at the Pul-e-Khishti mosque on April 6 injured six people as a hand grenade was thrown during the time of afternoon prayers.

On April 3 another blast caused by a hand grenade killed one person and injured 59 others in Kabul.

Kabul has been the center of a spate of blasts recently after the Taliban takeover of August 2021.
