Citing "some documents" that have revealed about people trying to defame the country, Pm Modi said that "People who are conspiring to defame India have stooped so low that they are not sparing even the Indian Tea, some documents have come up revealing that some foreign powers are planning to attack India's identity associated with tea."
His remarks came during his Assam visit where he laid the foundation of two medical colleges at Biswanath and Charaideo.
While introducing the projects, PM said that the new medical colleges in Assam will not only serve the people of Assam but also the nation. These colleges will give 1,600 MBBS doctors to the state.
"Till 2016, Assam had only 6 medical colleges. In the last 5 years, we have begun work on the construction of 6 more medical colleges. Seeing the need in North and Upper Assam, foundation stones have been laid for 2 more medical colleges in Biswanath and Charaideo," PM said.
There is no lack of talent in the nation. I envision that as we enter 75 years of independence, every state should have at least one college that teaches course in regional languages, Prime Minister Modi added.
PM Modi also launched the highways-and-roads project - Asom Mala in the state. Speaking in this context, the PM said that the 'Asom Mala’ in the next 15 years will improve state highways and major district roads networks and connect villages to the cities.
