Skoda Rapid Rider Launched At Rs 6.99 Lakh

The petrol-only variant gets a 5-speed manual gearbox

Skoda has launched the Rapid Rider in India with a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). Available with a petrol engine only, the limited-run model is now the most affordable variant in the Rapid lineup. It costs Rs 1 lakh less than the base-spec Rapid Active petrol. The Rapid Rider is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine that makes 105PS of power and 153Nm of peak torque, coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Rapid petrol also gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox, but it is not available with the Rider edition. Similarly, the Rapid Rider also misses out on a diesel engine, which is available with other variants of the Rapid. In terms of features, the Rapid Rider is equipped with basic safety nets like dual front airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors. On the aesthetic front, the Rider edition gets a black grille and B-pillar, black decals on the side and a black trunk lip garnish. On the inside, it features dual-tone ebony sand interior with ivory upholstery and scuff plates with ‘RAPID’ inscription.
