2 Nihangs Shot Dead After Attacking Police Personnel With Swords In Punjab’s Tarn Taran Sahib
The two Nihang Sikhs had fled Nanded Sahib after murdering a kar sevak. Nihang Sikhs attacked police while latter tried to arrest them.
A violent clash broke out between police and Nihang Sikhs on Sunday in Punjab's Tarn Taran during which the cops received serious injuries as the miscreants attacked them with swords and reportedly chopped off the hands of two officers. Meanwhile, the Nihang Sikhs who attacked two SHOs were shot at by the police in retaliation leading to their death.
The news agency ANI quoted DIG Tarn Taran saying, "Nanded Sahib (Maharashtra) Police informed Tarn Taran Police that two Nihang Sikhs had fled Nanded Sahib after murdering a kar Sevak. Nihang Sikhs attacked police while the latter tried to arrest them. Police shot them in retaliation which led to their death."

As per the latest update, the two SHOs who were attacked by Nihang Sikhs in Tarn Taran are undergoing treatment at Amandeep Hospital.
Superintendent of Police Jagjeet Walia reportedly said that "Both the SHOs are undergoing treatment at the hospital. They are out of danger. Both have received injuries on their hands."
A similar incident took place on April 12 last year during the Coronavirus-induced lockdown in Patiala. During the violent incident, Sub-Inspector Harjeet Singh's hand was chopped off and a few others were injured when a group of Nihangs allegedly attacked them at a vegetable market in Punjab's Patiala city.
