India Summons UK Envoy, Asks To Quickly Arrest Culprits Involved In Pulling Down Of Triclour At London Mission

Vinay Kwatra said that India has asked the British to make the Indian High Commission in the UK more secure.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra announced that India has issued its response and has asked the UK Deputy High Commission for an explanation in the matter, hours after supporters of Khalistan desecrated the Tricolor flying atop the Indian High Commission in London, reported news agency PTI. He also said that India has asked the British to make the Indian High Commission in the UK more secure.

“We have already put out India's response to it in which UK Deputy High Commission was asked for an explanation. Perpetrators need to be arrested and prosecuted,” said the Indian Foreign Secretary at a press briefing.

Vinay Kwatra stated that India lodged a firm protest and made it abundantly clear to the British authorities that the Indian high commission required adequate security.

During an anti-Khalistan demonstration, the Indian high commission's national flag was lowered.

India summoned the highest-ranking British diplomat in Delhi following the incident and demanded an explanation for the "complete absence of security" at the mission.

Kwatra said in response to a question from the media at a briefing that the British deputy high commissioner had been summoned, and India wanted the people responsible for what happened in London on Sunday to be "arrested and prosecuted" quickly.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) released a statement on the subject on Sunday night, which the foreign secretary cited.

However, he did not respond to a question regarding reports of protesters supporting Khalistan attacking the Indian Consulate in San Francisco.
