Kerala: Doctor Attacked In Taluk Hospital, Medicos Boycott Service
However, Kerala Government Medical Officers Association led a protest in the state and demanded to boycott the OP service until the accused are arrested.
Chennai: The doctors of Kerala took to protest on Friday after a doctor on duty at Government taluk hospital in Sasthamcotta was allegedly attacked by a mob on Thursday night. A group led by Sooranad North panchayat president attacked the doctor since he refused to declare the death of the patient without an ECG report.
According to a report on the New Indian Express, the doctors of the Government taluk hospital at Sasthamcotta boycotted the outpatient service and refused to attend to their duties on Friday. Following this, the Sooranad police registered a case against the panchayat president Sreekumar.

The clash between the group and the doctor started on Thursday at around 10.30 PM. A group led by Sreekumar came to the hospital with a woman who was severely injured allegedly after she fell into a well. Sreekumar and others called for the doctors and demanded him to declare her dead since she did not respond to the treatment. During that time, Dr Ganesh was busy but later she informed that he cannot declare the patient dead without an ECG report.
Following this, Sreekumar verbally abused and started attacking the doctor. Dr Ganesh suffered injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
However, Sreekumar gave a complaint to the police against the doctor alleging that he beat him and he is admitted to a private hospital.
