Kannur Man Shoots 24-yr-old Student, He Kills Self After Making Sure Of Her Death

Rahil broke into Manasa's rented accommodation in Ernakulam on Friday (July 30) and shot her dead, he took his own life after making sure that the girl was dead.

Ernakulam: A 24-year-old medical student who was studying at Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district was shot dead allegedly by a Kannur man, who killed himself aftermath of the incident.

The deceased woman was also a native of Kannur and has been identified to be PV Manasa. She was a house surgeon at Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences in Kothamangalam, and the accused is identified to be Rahil.

According to Kothamangalam police, the unfortunate incident took place between 3.30 pm and 4 pm on Friday (July 30), after Rahil break into Manasa's rented accommodation where she was living with a few other students in the neighbourhood of her college.

Both Manasa and Rahil were found dead inside the house. The police are collecting details about Rahil’s whereabouts as he was not from the same college that Manasa was studying in.

According to one of Rahul's friends, Manasa and Rahil were in a relationship; however, she was not interested in pursuing a relationship with any further which angered Rahil. Also, at one point, Manasa's family had filed a police complaint against the man.

Showing prompt action, police rushed the duo to a private hospital in the region, however, they succumbed to injuries.

Manasa's friends narrated that they were having lunch when Rahil showed up. Manasa was upset seeing him and asked why he was there. When they went downstairs to call their house owner, they heard gunshots from upstairs. We saw two of them lying on the floor in the pool of blood.

According to the ward member, Rahil had been living in the vicinity for the past one month. But, neither Manasa nor her friends were aware.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Dental College, Bijesh revealed that there were some issues between Manasa and Rahil and the latter was warned by the Kannur police in the past
