A Non-Cognizable Offence has been registered against the daughter of an ex-IAS officer who was seen vandalising diya stalls in a viral video.

The Uttar Pradesh Police has registered a Non-Cognizable Offence against the daughter of an ex-IAS officer after a video of her went viral on social media in which she could be seen destroying the shops of roadside diya sellers in Gomti Nagar's Patrakarpuram on Monday.

According to reports, the woman was not happy with the stalls being set up in front of her house and had warned the shopkeepers to remove the stalls. When the shopkeepers did not remove the stalls she allegedly poured water on the diyas and later broke the stalls.

The video of her going on a rampage and damaging the stalls as young kids looked on in disbelief went viral and garnered criticism and people called her out on her high-handedness.
