IMD Forecasts Fresh Spell Of Hailstorms, Rain From March 23 Across India

On March 23, isolated thunderstorms, lightning, brisk winds, and hailstorms are anticipated over Uttarakhand and West Rajasthan.

New Delhi: From March 23 to 25, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a new round of rain and hailstorms in Northwest India.

On Tuesday, the Met department predicted that the western Himalayan region, Punjab, Haryana, and portions of Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh would experience moderate to light rain and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.

On March 23, isolated thunderstorms, lightning, brisk winds, and hailstorms are anticipated over Uttarakhand and West Rajasthan. On March 24, these conditions are likely to occur in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana.

On Thursday and Friday, scattered rain is likely to fall in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, parts of Tamil Nadu, and Kerala as we move south.

Over the next two days, the maximum temperature in Central India would gradually rise by 2 to 3 degrees, as predicted by IMD.

As the weather becomes more unpredictable than ever, meteorologists have issued a warning for a severe season of intense heat waves and high temperatures this year.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that heatwaves in April and May will increase the likelihood of record-breaking temperatures.

Another major concern is the resurgence of El Nino, a global ocean phenomenon linked to a poor monsoon.

It has rained a lot this week in some parts of the country.

In West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Meghalaya, severe rainfall was reported in a few isolated locations over the past 24 hours, according to the IMD.

Additionally, hailstorms have been reported in isolated locations in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours.
