Birbhum Violence: West Bengal BJP MPs To Meet PM Modi At His Residence In Delhi Today
The meeting is said to be in the aftermath of the violence and killings that took place in Birbhum, West Bengal last week.
The meeting of Prime Minister Modi with the BJP's Lok Sabha MPs from West Bengal, which was scheduled for March 30 has now been rescheduled for March 31, i.e. today. It is understood that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs will meet PM at his official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi.
Various reports suggested that the meeting with the MPs is to discuss the law and order situation in West Bengal in the aftermath of the violence and killings that took place in Birbhum last week, and also the ruckus that followed in the parliament.
A few unidentified people had set ablaze 10 houses on March 21 in Bagtui village of Birbhum district near Rampurhat town, killing at least eight people, including women and children. Reports suggested that these killings were in response to the murder of a local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Bhadu Sheikh.

The CBI team, led by a DIG-rank officer, reached Bogtui on Saturday following an order by the Calcutta High Court and took charge of the investigation. The HC has set a deadline of April 7 to submit its progress report.
