French Air and Space Force Chief Gen Stephane Mille flew in an Indian Russian-origin Su-30 fighter aircraft while Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari took off in a French Air Force Rafale jet during the 'Garuda' exercise in Jodhpur. Indian Air Force (IAF) & French Air and Space Force (FASF) are participating in 'Garuda VIl', a bilateral exercise in Jodhpur.

The 'Garuda' exercise gives both IAF and FASF opportunities to promote professional interaction, exchange of experiences and enhancement of operational knowledge.

In the video, the fighter jet can be seen landing on the runway.

While addressing the crowd, FASF Chief General Stephane Mille said, "We're here to fly together with Indian aircrew. Sometimes, with a simple act, we can do a lot. Doing this exercise, we are able to understand each other during the flight. It's very important to be able to fly & operate together."

Taking on the baton from Mille, IAF Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari who flew in a French Air Force Rafale jet said, "We've learnt how to carry forward our interoperability. French Air Force also flies Rafale, we also fly Rafale, but we fly many other aircraft along with Rafale. It's imp to learn how to interoperate with friendly nations."

While emphasising on the importance of air power, Chaudhari said, "There's no doubt that in any future conflict anywhere in the globe, air power will play a very vital & critical role in deciding the outcomes of the conflict."
