Villagers mourn as they perform last rites of 130-year-old crocodile in Chhattisgarh
He was later flown in the river after the final rights had been performed.
New Delhi: In a very rare incident, a crocodile was paid last tributes and his death was mourned by villagers at a Chhattisgarh village. The incident took place in Bemetara district’s Bawa Mohtara village.
As per the locals, the crocodile was named – Gangaram and was around 130- year-old.
The villagers gathered in huge numbers and performed prayers and offered flowers as the dead crocodile lay on the ground. Some people also put money on the dead Reptile.
He was later flown in the river after the final rights had been performed.
