Vice President Dhankhar Arrives In Cambodian Town Siem Reap, Offers Prayers At Ta Prohm Temple
The Vice President also inaugurated the restored Hall of Dancers at Ta Prohm Temple which is part of a USD 4 mn worth collaboration project between India and Cambodia.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday arrived in the resort town of Siem Reap in Cambodia on the last leg of his three-day visit. He will review the preservation and restoration work being undertaken by India at Cambodian heritage sites. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Dr Sudesh Dhankhar were welcomed by Vice Governor, HE Mr. Pin Prakad of Siem Reap Province, and other dignitaries on their arrival in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Vice President Dhankhar, accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, visited Ta Prohm Temple which is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. According to Ministry of external Affairs, the Vice President also inaugurated the restored Hall of Dancers at Ta Prohm Temple in the Angkor archaeological complex.
Tweeting a photograph of the event, the ministry said, “The Hall of Dancers at Ta Prohm temple is part of a USD 4 mn worth collaboration project between India and Cambodia on preservation and restoration of cultural heritage in Cambodia.”
Speaking on the occasion the Vice President said, “We are not in the country of our extended neighbourhood, we are in our extended family.”

Earlier in the day, Dhankhar addressed the 17 East Asia Summit (EAS) in Cambodia's capital city Phnom Penh. Addressing the gathering, the Vice President highlighted global concerns on food and energy security and emphasized the role of the EAS mechanism in promoting free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
