Uttar Pradesh: 29 Wagons Of Goods Train Derail Near Fatehpur, Several Other Trains Affected
Seven coaches of the goods train climbed upon each other and thus disrupted both the up and down tracks.
New Delhi: A goods train carrying 29 wagons from Kanpur station got derailed at Ramwa station near Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning, disrupting the movement of 20 other trains on the route, news agency ANI reported.
According to the report, the accident took place around 10.30 am when the train was downtrack at Ramwa station near Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Seven coaches of the goods train climbed upon each other and thus disrupted both the up and down tracks.
The engineers expect the situation to return to normalcy at the train route by evening.

As per the report, twelve passenger trains, including Vande Bharat Express, have been affected due to the disruption of both the tracks. Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railways said that Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi to Varanasi was diverted to DFC (Dedicated Freight Corridor) route, while Amritsar-Patna (04076) express was being operated on DFC route between Ruma and Sujatpur, and trains being diverted to DFC route are Mahananda Express, Sambhalpur-Jammu Tawi, Howrah-Kalka Netaji Express, Bhubaneshwar-Anand Vihar Terminal, Jogbani-Anand Vihar and North East Express.
The railway engineers said that work to clear the track is underway and said traffic on the route can be resumed by evening.

Meanwhile, three coaches of the Puri-Howrah Express derailed near Malatipatapur station while the train was on its way to Puri on Saturday evening, according to reports.
There were no passengers in the coach when the accident took place. Due to the derailment, the train was delayed. However, no major damage was reported.
Meanwhile, the passengers, who were waiting to board the train at Puri Station, were miffed due to the unexpected delay of the train.
Earlier this month, four wagons of a goods train derailed near Sarla yard of Sambalpur-Jharsuguda railway line in Odisha. Following the mishap, some trains running on the route were either cancelled or diverted. Jharsuguda-Sambalpur passenger train and Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Express were among the trains that were cancelled.
