Union Minister Anurag Thakur Pushes Bus After It Breaks Down On Himachal Highway. Watch Video

In the video, Anurag Thakur can be seen lending a hand in helping locals push the bus that caused a massive traffic jam on the highway.

A video of Union Minister Anurag Thakur pushing a bus that broke down in the middle of a highway in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district has gone viral. In the video, Thakur can be seen lending a hand in helping locals push the bus that caused a massive traffic jam on the highway.

The incident happened when Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, was returning after addressing election rallies in Ghumarvi, Jhanduta and Sadar assembly constituencies in Bilaspur district. Thakur's convoy was stuck in the traffic jam on the highway.

Thakur, who addressed three rallies on Tuesday, said the next BJP government in Himachal Pradesh would connect every village in the state with metal roads in five years.

The Union Minister said Rs 12,000 crore would be spent over the next 10 years to improve transport and basic infrastructure near pilgrimage centres and temples in the state, PTI reported.

"The number of mobile clinic vans will be doubled in every assembly constituency to ensure that people in far-flung places get access to medical facilities," he further said.

Thakur also said that women would get 33% reservation in government jobs and Rs 51,000 would be given to poor women during their marriage if BJP returns to power. Thakur also said that cycles would be given to school-going students and college-going students would get a scooty.

Thakur flagged that the "double engine" government in Himachal led to the construction of 12,000 km-long rural roads in the last eight years and the state was also connected to Delhi with the modern Vande Bharat train.

Training his guns on the Congress, Thakur accused the party of stalling development projects in the state, particularly in Bilaspur district.

"We sanctioned the AIIMS project worth Rs 1,470 crore, but the then Congress government did not allot land for it. In 2010, the then BJP government in the state proposed a central university for the state, but the Congress government created hurdles in the process," PTI quoted Thakur as saying.
