Unidentified men fire bullets at Army officer Umer Fayaz's funeral, no casualties reported

Lieutenant Umer Fayaz was abducted by five to six militants from his relative's house in south Kashmir's Shopian last night. His dead body being taken in an ambulance.

Shopian: Unidentified men sprayed bullets during the funeral of martyr Army Lieutenant Umer Fayaz in Kulgam at around noon on Wednesday. The firing caused panic and fright among mourners of the soldier whose bullet ridden body was found in Shopian district of South Kashmir this morning.  It was not clear whether it was an air firing to disperse the crowd gathered. There was no information of casualties till last reports came in.

Fayaz was abducted by the terrorists on Tuesday and thereafter shot dead and his body was disposed. He had gone to attend the wedding ceremony of a relative in Shopian. A probe has been launched to find out, how and from where the slain Lieutenant was abducted. Pakistan has been repeatedly stooping to a new low by targeting Indian Army soldiers. This incident has come when the wounds of Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and the BSF's Head Constable Prem Sagar’s death are still afresh. The most shocking part if, In spite of continuous attacks, Pakistan has been denying killing and mutilation of Indian soldiers. Refuting Pakistan’s claim of not committing the act, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley had also asserted that such an act where crossing of borders are involved cannot be committed without an involvement of the Pakistan Army.
