'Udhayanidhi Will Definitely Become Chief Minister One Day': Tamil Nadu Minister Anbil Mahesh

Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi also noted Udhayanidhi’s firm stance, particularly highlighting his refusal to apologize over the controversial remarks he made regarding Sanatana Dharma.

Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, expressed strong confidence on Tuesday that Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin will one day ascend to the position of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at a party youth wing event in Chennai, Anbil Mahesh unveiled the song 'Thalaivaney, Ilam Thalaivane' (Leader, Young Leader) in honor of Udhayanidhi's upcoming birthday on November 27. Reflecting on Udhayanidhi's leadership qualities, Mahesh stated, "Indraya Deputy CM, oru naal definitely CM (today's Deputy CM and one day definitely CM)" drawing loud applause from the gathered party workers.

Mahesh praised Udhayanidhi as well-mannered and committed to the party’s ideology. He also noted Udhayanidhi’s firm stance, particularly highlighting his refusal to apologize over the controversial remarks he made regarding Sanatana Dharma, referring to the incident without directly mentioning it.

"Udhayanidhi had said 'he is Kalaignar's (late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi) grandson,' and did not apologise," the minister said.

Udhayanidhi, who is also the secretary of the DMK’s youth wing, turned 47 on November 27, 2024. The song 'Thalaivaney, Ilam Thalaivane' is a tribute to Udhayanidhi, with the title signifying both a leader and a young leader. It was composed by Thoothukudi S Joel, the DMK's state youth wing deputy secretary.

Anbil Mahesh’s remarks reflect a growing momentum within the DMK viewing Udhayanidhi Stalin as the next in line for the CM's post.

Meanwhile, TN BJP leader H Raja critiqued Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin after a viral video which showed school students wishing him for his birthday by standing in a playgroumd.

In a social media statement, Raja questioned whether schools in Tamil Nadu operate solely for students to extend birthday wishes to Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. He questioned Tamil Nadu Education Minister on the reason for supporting this.
