Turkish Airlines: Baby born mid-air, crew helps in delivery at 42,000 feet

New Delhi: An unexpected passenger joined a Turkish Airlines flight when a woman went into labour and gave birth mid-flight to a baby girl. On Sunday, the flight's crew and some passengers helped in the delivery of the new-born mid-air when Nafi Diaby, 28 weeks pregnant, went into labour on the flight. The incident happened soon after plane took-off from Guinea's capital Conakry to Istanbul via Ouagadougou. Reportedly, plane cruising at an altitude of roughly 42,000 feet at the time. t2 Image courtesy: Turkish Airlines Praising the efforts of the crew, the international airlines company issued a statement. It said: "The cabin crew noticed that a woman passenger named Nafi Diaby, 28 weeks into her pregnancy, was suffering childbirth pains." "They promptly responded to assist her childbirth during the flight," it added.
