Tripura: 33% Of Government Jobs In State To Be Reserved For Women, Says Amit Shah

"All women taking admission in Institutions of National Importance will get a 3% interest waiver on loans if taken," Union Home Minister said.

New Delhi: On the occasion of International Women's Day on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that 33 per cent of government jobs in Tripura would be reserved for women.

Addressing a rally in Agartala to mark the fourth anniversary of the BJP government in Tripura, Amit Shah said, "Tripura government has decided to give a reservation of 33% to all women for any state govt job, or for higher educational institutions. All women taking admission in Institutions of National Importance will get a 3% interest waiver on loans if taken."

The Union Home Minister also said that women would get 50 per cent reservation to operate shops in government shopping complexes or markets.

"Women to get 50% reservation to operate shops in govt shopping complexes or markets. 50% venture capital fund reserved to promote startups by women...this initiation of women welfare by CM Biplab Kumar Deb shall benefit everyone in Tripura," he further said.

Amit Shah further said that Biplab Deb's administration had put an end to political violence in the state.

Farmers' incomes, according to Amit Shah, have more than doubled during the current administration, and per capita income has risen to Rs 1.3 lakh.

"Agartala has been connected with the rest of the country through rail. A total of 542 km of national highways have been built," he was quoted by PTI on its official Twitter handle.

According to the Union Home Minister, there has been a 30 per cent decrease in heinous crimes in Tripura, and the conviction rate has improved from 5 per cent to 53 per cent.

Amit Shah said that the ruling dispensation would fulfil all promises made in the previous manifesto, and he would return to Tripura to seek votes. Tripura will go to assembly polls early next year.
