Renowned Urdu Poet Munawwar Rana's Son Escapes Unhurt In Firing Incident, Police Suspect Property Dispute Behind Attack
Tabrez had left for Lucknow on Monday night on his way he stopped at a petrol pump to refuel when he was attacked by bike borne attackers.
Rae Bareli: Tabrez Rana, Urdu poet Munawwar Rana's son was opened fire at on Monday night. Although he managed to make a narrow escape, the assailants have not been identified yet.
The police are scanning the CCTV footage of the area to identify the attackers.

Tabrez Rana who belongs to Rae Bareli has been living in Lucknow for the past couple of years.
On Monday, he left for Lucknow from his Rae Bareli residence and as soon as he turned to fill fuel in his car near Tripula petrol pump, two unidentified miscreants on a bike started firing at Tabrez Rana's car. The attackers fired two shots towards him, then fled from the spot. The bullets hit Tabrez's SUV.
As soon as the administration was informed of the incident, city police officer Atul Singh, CO City Mahipal Pathak and Additional Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Srivastava reached the spot to inquire and launched a probe into the incident. After Tabrez's family got to know of the attack, his sister and Samajwadi Party member Sumaiya Rana reached the spot with her supporter are demanded that the police administration take action after conducting a fair investigation.
Later, Munawwar Rana, also reached the spot and that his own family members might be behind the attack. He told the police that some members of his family have animosity over the land dispute and that they could be behind the attack.
The police have recorded a statement of Tabrez Alam who is a land dealer and told police that he has no enmity with anyone. The police spokesperson said that they suspect the attack could be a result of a property dispute.
At present, the police are fully engaged in the investigation and also gave the assurance of disclosure at the earliest.
Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar has engaged several teams including SOG team for investigation. Additional Superintendent of Police says that a complaint of firing has been received on Tabrez Rana at a petrol pump near Tripula in Kotwali area of the city. We reached the spot as quickly as possible along with the forensic team and added that action will be taken immediately after the attackers are identified.
