Tablighi Jamaat: 'Do Not Assemble, Follow Government's Directive,' Maulana Saad's New Clip Goes Viral

The message comes as law enforcement agencies are tightening their grip around Maulana Saad and several Islamic organisations slammed him over flouting the social distancing norms.

New Delhi: Maulana Mohammed Saad Kandhawali, the head of Markaz Tablighi Jammat in New Delhi’s Nizamuddin area, which emerged as the hotspot of coronavirus transmission in the country, has released a new audio in which he said he is in self-quarantine and has asked his followers to take precautions and support government in its bid to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. The message comes as law enforcement agencies are tightening their grip around Maulana Saad and several Islamic organisations slammed Saad over flouting the social distancing norms. Maulana Saad in the audio says that "I am in self-quarantine in Delhi as advised by the doctors and appeal to all Jamaat wherever they are in the country to follow the directives of the law ." He said that it is advised to remain indoors and adhere to the directives of the government and not to assemble anywhere. He said that "the pandemic is due to sins of human being committed by them." Watch here: Earlier, a previous clip allegedly of Maulaan Saad was going viral which had stunned the authorities, as the voice said "there is no need of social distancing also it is not written anywhere in our religion". In the audio clip, some other people can also be heard. In the clip which has apparently reached the crime branch of Delhi Police, sneezing and coughing by other people could also be heard. The prayer gatherings organised by the Tablighi Jamaat - a global Islamic movement of Indian origin - at a six-storey building in South Delhi's Nizamuddin West area, proved to be the super spreader of the virus across nation.
