Kerala's First BJP MP Suresh Gopi Takes Charge As MoS Tourism And Petroleum & Natural Gas

Suresh Gopi assumed the position of Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Amid speculation that he might quit the cabinet, Suresh Gopi dismissed the rumours as 'grossly incorrect'.

A day after dismissing rumors about his resignation from the Modi 3.0 cabinet, Suresh Gopi officially took charge as the Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He assumed the position in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Following this, Gopi also assumed the role of Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism.

Addressing the responsibilities of his new portfolio, Suresh Gopi remarked, "I have to learn the Ministry's dispersal, responsibilities, capacity and how I can participate in the dispersal capacity of the Ministry."

"It's a huge responsibility. So, I have to look at the prospects that the PM is looking forward to. After going through all the content of the next level of emerging petroleum systems in India, maybe I will be able to put in my contribution. Let's keep our thoughts open. Thanks to the people of Kerala, Thrissur. You gave me this opportunity."

The Minister of State emphasised his commitment to his new roles and his dedication to contributing to the government's vision for the future. Amid speculations that he might quit from the cabinet, Suresh Gopi rubbished the rumours as 'grossly incorrect' on Monday. He said, "A few media platforms are spreading the incorrect news that I am going to resign from the Council of Ministers of the Modi Government. This is grossly incorrect. It is a matter of pride for me to be in the Council of Ministers of the Modi Government and to represent the people of Kerala. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, we are committed to the development and prosperity of Kerala "
