Supreme Court orders to declare NEET results, CBSE to announce in 2 weeks
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday stayed a Madras High Court order restraining the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from declaring the result of NEET 2017 for under graduate medical courses.
The apex court permitted the board to declare the results and go ahead with consequential steps including counselling and admissions. The vacation bench of Justice Prafulla C. Pant and Justice Deepak Gupta said that no High Court across the country would entertain any plea relating to the NEET 2017.
Staying the May 24 order of the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court, Justice Pant passing the order said: "The High Court shouldn't have easily and liberally interfered with the schedule".
The bench also requested all the high courts not to entertain petitions in the matters relating to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) examination 2017.
The order came on the plea by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and others challenging the May 24 order of the Madras High Court which had restrained the Board from publishing the results of NEET examination 2017 in which around 12 lakh aspirants had appeared.
