Supertech Twin Tower Demolition: Noida Police Evacuate Nearby Residents, Know Traffic Diversions For Today

The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be closed at 2:15pm and will be resumed after normalisation. The diverted routes have also been updated on Google Maps for reference. 

New Delhi: The stage is set for the demolition of Supertech Twin Towers in Noida’s Sector 93A which will be raised down at 2:30 pm this afternoon. Ahead of the demolition, around 5,000 residents from the nearby societies have been evacuated, reported news agency PTI. The evacuation of residents of Emerald Court and ATS Village societies was scheduled to be completed by 7 am but took a little longer, police officials said.

The supply of cooking gas and power has also been discontinued in the two societies in Sector 93A in view of the implosion planned at 2.30 pm on Sunday, an official overseeing the evacuation exercise said.

"The evacuation has been completed. The cooking gas and electricity supplies have been discontinued. They will be resumed after security clearance post demolition later," a police officer told the news agency. 

As per the report quoting the official, the residents, their vehicles, and pets had to be moved out by 7 am, the private security and other staff will be moved out of the two societies by 1 pm.

The Noida traffic police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the demolition with some roads completely restricted while some other routes have been diverted. The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be closed at 2:15 pm and will be resumed for traffic after normalisation. The diverted routes have also been updated on Google Maps for reference. 

Supertech Twin Tower Demolition: Traffic Diversion In Noida Today

Following are completely restricted road which had been closed today at 7am and will be opened after the end of demolition and normalisation:

  1. Route from ATS Tiraha to Gejha Fruit / Vegetable Market Tiraha. 
  2. Double road and service road from Eldico Chowk to Sector 108. 
  3. Double route from Shramik Kunj Chowk to Sector 92 Ratiram Chowk.
  4. Faridabad flyover from Shramik Kunj Chowk to Sector 132.
  5. Faridabad flyover from Sector 128 to Shramik Kunj Chowk.

Traffic diversion on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway for a short time during safe demolition of Tower T-16 and T-17 Sector 93 (from 2:15 pm on 28.08.2022 till normalcy):

  1. Traffic moving from Noida to Greater Noida / Yamuna Expressway will be diverted from Mahamaya flyover towards Sector 37. This traffic will go towards the destination via City Centre, Sector 71.
  2. Traffic going from Noida to Greater Noida / Yamuna Expressway will be diverted from the Filmcity flyover to elevated road. This traffic will go towards the destination via Elevated Road via Sector 60, Sector 71.
  3. Traffic going from Noida to Greater Noida / Yamuna Expressway will be completely closed in front of Sector 82 cut before the Faridabad flyover of Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Service Road. This traffic will go towards the destination via Gejha Tiraha, Phase-2.
  4. Traffic going from Greater Noida to Noida/Delhi will be diverted from Pari Chowk towards Surajpur. This traffic will go towards the destination via Surajpur, Yamaha, Phase-2 or Bisrakh, Kisan Chowk.
  5. Traffic going from Yamuna Expressway / Greater Noida to Noida / Delhi will be diverted from Zero Point to Pari Chowk on the Yamuna Expressway. This traffic will go towards the destination via Pari Chowk, Surajpur, Yamaha, Phase-2 or Bisrakh Kisan Chowk.
  6. Yamuna Expressway/Greater Noida to Noida/Delhi traffic will be completely closed in front of Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Service Road Sector 132. This traffic will pass inside Sector 132 towards the destination from Pusta Road.
