“I have repeatedly asked Hon. IT Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw ji to take stern action against such rampant misogyny and communal targeting of women through #sullideals like platforms. A shame that it continues to be ignored,” she added.
Responding to the development, the Mumbai Police said that they have taken cognizance of the matter and concerned officials were asked to take action. An official said that the Mumbai cyber police has initiated a probe in connection with the objectionable content.
A social media user said that the said app “Bulli Bai” worked just the same way as Sulli deals did. Once you open it, you randomly find a Muslim woman’s face being displayed as Bulli Bai, the user added.
