'Some People Marry Tribal Girls Just To Buy Land': MP CM Shivraj Chouhan's 'Jihad' Claim
Speaking at a public gathering in Indore, CM Chouhan stated: “Some people from other religions, if they can't buy tribal land, they marry the daughter of a tribal family just to buy land."
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, referred to "Love Jihad" when he remarked on Sunday that individuals of other religious convictions want to marry tribal females if they can't afford tribal property, news agency ANI reported. He stated earlier this week that a committee will be established to carry out the Uniform Civil Code.
Speaking at a public gathering in Indore, CM Chouhan stated: “Some people from other religions, if they can't buy tribal land, they marry the daughter of a tribal family just to buy land."
“This is not love, it is 'jihad' in the name of love, and I will not allow this game of 'love jihad' in Madhya Pradesh at any cost,” he added.

The claim that Muslim males convert Hindu women through marriage is known as "love-jihad."
He said that such activities performed in the name of love are'sin,' and he queried the big audience assembled there as to whether or not they agreed with him.
"If the tribal lands are to be kept safe, the map of the lands must come to us," Chouhan further said.
Earlier on Thursday, the chief minister questioned the need for two sets of legislation. "Why does a man marry more than once? Why are there two sets of (personal) laws in one country? I am going to form a committee," he had said.
