Sidhu Moosewala Shot Dead: Fans Express Shock And Disbelief Over Punjabi Singer's Untimely Demise

The singer was shot dead two days after the Punjab Police had ordered the withdrawal of security of 424 people, including Sidhu Moosewala.

New Delhi: Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Jawaharpur village of Mansa district in Punjab on Sunday, evoking a slew of reactions from several quarters, including political leaders, celebrities and his fans. While some netizens and leaders slammed the AAP government in Punjab, calling his death a ‘political vendetta’, several others took to the social media platforms to express their condolences over the singer’s demise.

According to reports, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known by his stage name Sidhu Moosewala, was driving with two of his friends when the incident took place. Three of them were brought to the hospital which declared Moosewala dead.

Notably, Moosewala had contested the Punjab Assembly elections on a Congress ticket from Mansa. He was defeated by AAP’s Dr Vijay Singla.

After his untimely death, Twitter was flooded with reactions from several of his fans expressing shock and disbelief over the incident.

While one of his fans wrote, “Your voice and legacy will be forever in our hearts”, another took to the social media handle to write, “Rest in Peace Sidhu. such a talented young man and at 28 had so much left to give, both in talent and in life. So shocking.”

It is to be noted that the singer was shot dead two days after the Punjab Police had ordered the withdrawal of security of 424 people, including Sidhu Moosewala.
