New Delhi: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu met Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday and praised him for his virtues. After the meeting, Sidhu talked to the reporters and said that Mann is a receptive man with no arrogance, news agency PTI reported.

The meeting between Mann and Sidhu comes days after Sidhu called Mann a “rubber doll”. Sidhu had claimed that the Punjab government is being run by AAP leadership in Delhi. However, he took a turn on his words and called Mann his “younger brother” and an “honest man”.

According to a report by PTI, ahead of the meeting, Punjab minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that Mann will meet Sidhu who is not an MLA or a minister and even lost the election.

Sidhu had announced that he will be meeting with Mann to discuss various issues pertaining to the state’s development.

Post the meeting, he spoke to the reporters at the Punjab Civil Secretariat and said, “I came here for Punjab’s progress. What should I say about CM Saab (Mann), he has no ego and arrogance. He is the same today as he was 10-15 years back and even six months back.”

Sidhu added that Mann has “as much pain as him.” The meeting went on for nearly 50 minutes starting at 5:15 pm.

Talking about is the meeting was positive or not, Sidhu said, “It is very positive. When a person is receptive then you do not feel the passing of 50 minutes.” This meeting was for issues concerning changing the lives of people, he told reporters.

Sidhu also said that he gave suggestions to Mann on sand mining and how revenue can be generated by changing the contract system and fixing the sand rate.

“I see one thing that time will be up for Punjab’s traitors, be it sand mining. I told him the voice of my soul,” he said.

“When you fix the rate of sand, everything will be set right. There is nothing called the sand mafia, it is the transport mafia,” he added.

Taking about various state issues, Sidhu suggested to Mann that the nexus between police, politicians, and drug peddlers should be broken.

“I told him one thing that it is a question of Punjab’s honour which should not be broken,” he said.
