Shocking! Five Year Old Assam Girl Feared To Be Sacrificed, Suspected Occultist Held

New Delhi: The body of a five-year-old girl has been found in Charaideo district of Assam and it is suspected that the girl was sacrificed. A tantric has been arrested in the case, Police informed.

A senior police official said the girl was the youngest amongst her five siblings and was abducted from her house in a tea garden by unidentified men on Monday night. The girl was sleeping at the time of the incident. Her elder sister had lodged a missing complaint with the Sefarai police station on Tuesday.

The official said the body of the girl was recovered from the Singlu river on Tuesday night. On the banks of the river, a red cloth was recovered along with ash and other materials used in supernatural activities by occultist, indicating that it could be a case of sacrifice. He said the body has been sent for postmortem. A suspect has been arrested in the case and efforts are on to nab the main accused in the case.

The official said the girl's parents are being questioned. 10 people including the girl's father have been taken into custody for questioning. The investigation into the case is going on and the angle of sacrifice has not been ruled out. He said that earlier also incidents of sacrifice have been reported in tribal dominated tea gardens. 

In 2016, a four-year-old girl went missing from another tea garden in the area and her mutilated body was recovered a few days later.
