According to reports, the cabinet, on December 22, accepted the magisterial report submitted by the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner on the incident, the sequence of events that led to the death of three miscreants during the violence in KG Halli and DJ Halli in August 2020. The report also mentions that clean chit was given to police resorting to lathi-charge and firing.

“They torched thousands of vehicles within a few minutes and rioted for around 20 hours. Can this be done suddenly? It can be done if it's pre-planned. We had said that SDPI, PFI are behind this. Proof surfaced today. Its the right time to ban SDPI,” ANI quoted CT Ravi as saying.
