Delhi's Patiala House Court on Wednesday issued notice to Delhi Police on Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Sameer Wankhede's petition seeking an FIR against IPS officer Gyaneshwar Singh for alleged harassment that is punishable under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities ) Act, 1989.
The Delhi court has issued notice to Delhi Police and asked the DCP, Southwest district, Delhi if any FIR has been lodged in this case and called for an action taken report on the complaint filed by Wankhede, Aditya Giri, Advocate for Sameer Wankhede told ABP Live.
Advocate Anand Kumar who is also representing Wankhede in the case told ABP LIVE, that despite several complaints being given to police, no action has been taken against Gyaneshwar Singh in this case and hence Sameer Wankhede moved before the special court, under SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, seeking a direction for registration of FIR against Gyaneshwar Singh for the offence committed by him.
Wankhede has alleged that during an enquiry, Singh humiliated him for being a member of Schedule Caste community. He further alleged that Singh threatened him with his job and leaked the details of the enquiry before the media houses which led to social boycott and humiliation of a Scheduled Caste family in the public and society.
It has also been alleged that Singh tortured witnesses to give statements against Wankhede.

Wankhede who was former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal director is accused for allegedly demanding of Rs 25 crore from superstar Shah Rukh Khan for not implicating his son Aryan Khan in the Cordelia cruise drug bust case.
The IRS officer has been accused by the CBI along with others in connection with the Cordelia cruise drug bust case. IPS Gyaneshwar Singh headed the Special Enquiry Team (SET) set up to enquire into allegations against Wankhede.
