Russia-Ukraine Crisis | Discussion On To Increase Number Of Flights Between Kyiv And Delhi: Sources
As per government sources, Discussions are underway with civil aviation authorities and various airlines on how to increase the number of flights between India and Ukraine.
New Delhi: Amid the tensions between Ukraine and Russia and fear of invasion from Russia, the Indian authorities are discussing how to increase the number of flights between India and Ukraine to fly Indian nationals, especially students, out of the country before the situation escalates.
As per government sources, discussions are underway with civil aviation authorities and various airlines on how to increase the number of flights between Kyiv and Delhi.
Sources told ABP News that “we are aware that many Indian students are presently in Ukraine, and their families are anxious about their wards, particularly about getting flights to India.”
On February 15, the Indian embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, issued an advisory to Indian nationals requesting them to return to India temporarily if they are staying for non-essential purposes. The embassy is monitoring the situation.
Sources further added, “control Rooms in the Embassy as well as in the Ministry of External Affairs are being set up to respond to queries of Indian nationals in Ukraine and their families in India.”
Although Russia, on Wednesday announced that the military drills in Moscow-annexed Crimea have ended and the troops have started returning to the mainland, reported news agency AFP.

However, the western powers are still ambiguous about Russian forces. As per a report by AFP, NATO Chief said that Russia appears to be continuing military buildup around Ukraine.
