‘Ribbon-Cutting’ BJP Govt Taking Credit For Samajwadi Party’s Work: Akhilesh Yadav

Escalating his attack on the BJP, the former chief minister said the people will show the exit door to the “ribbon-cutting” government in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Lucknow: Launching a vitriolic attack on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regime over the Saryu Nahar National project, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said three-fourths of its works were completed during his government in Uttar Pradesh.

“The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh took five years to complete the remaining works of Saryu Nahar National Project, which was three-fourths completed during the SP government. A new rea of SP will come again in '22.,” Yadav tweeted in Hindi.

Escalating his attack on the BJP, the former chief minister said the people will show the exit door to the “ribbon-cutting” government in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

“There are basically two types of people in the world, some who really work and some who appropriate others' work. This is the difference between the government of SP and today's 'Kainchijeevi' (ribbon cutting) government. That's why in 2022 elections the BJP is going to be completely wiped out,” he wrote on the micro-blogging platform.

The Samajwadi Party chief’s remarks came as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Saryu Canal National Project in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that his government is committed to the cause of small and marginal farmers.

He also took a jibe at the Opposition in Uttar Pradesh stating their priority is laying the foundation stone of the projects but ours is to complete the projects within time.

This project, built with a total cost of more than Rs. 9800 crores, will benefit over 25 lakh farmers of Uttar Pradesh.

Hailed as the biggest river linking project in Uttar Pradesh, it will benefit nine districts, including Balrampur, Gorakhpur and Gonda.
