Republic Day 2024: Full-Dress Rehearsals Held In Srinagar Amid Tight Security In J&K
The Army has deployed snipers and conducted night patrolling with the latest technology to guard the Line of Control in Gurez, in J&K's Bandipora.
Republic Day 2024: Ahead of the 75th Republic Day, a full-dress rehearsal was held on Wednesday at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri Kulgam unfurled the National flag, inspected the parade, and took a salute during the march past, giving a glimpse of the grand spectacle to unfold on Friday. The Indian Army has deployed snipers and conducted night patrolling with the latest technology to guard the Line of Control in Gurez, in J&K's Bandipora.
An Indian Army personnel deployed on duty to guard the border in Gurez said, "Using surveillance equipment, we keep an eye on the enemy during all 24 hours".

The rehearsal is a precursor to the actual Republic Day parade scheduled to be held on January 26. Ahead of the big day, security has been beefed up across Kashmir, and all arrangements for a safe and secure event have been put in place, IGP Kashmir VK Birdi said.
On the occasion, various contingents of security agencies took part in the parade, including J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, Indian Reserve Police, Central Reserve Police Force, SSB, Home Guards, Fire and Emergency contingent, NCC cadets, and students.
Later, various cultural programmes based on cultural and patriotic songs were presented by different artist groups, troupes, and students to enthuse the spirit of patriotism among the people. Among others present during the full dress rehearsal function were senior officers from security departments and other departments.
