After Sonia, Priyanka Gandhi Tests Covid Positive, Reports Mild Symptoms

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday tested positive for the coronavirus. 

New Delhi: Following Congress President Sonia Gandhi, her daughter and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also tested positive for the coronavirus. 

Taking to Twitter, Priyanka Gandhi said, "I've tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms. Following all the protocols, I have quarantined myself at home. I would request those who came in contact with me to take all necessary precautions."

Earlier on Thursday, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala had said that after developing a mild fever on Wednesday evening, Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi was tested covid positive.

In the past week, she has been meeting various leaders and activist, and some of them have also tested positive for the virus, according to Surjewala. 

Taking to Twitter, Congress spokesperson said,"Congress president had developed mild fever and COVID symptoms last evening. On testing, she has been found to be COVID positive."

"Congress President will appear before ED on 8th June, as informed by us earlier. We, at Indian National Congress, shall keep you posted about any future developments," he tweeted.

After being detected as covid positive, Sonia Gandhi had isolated herself.
