'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas Our Mantra': PM Modi Inaugurates Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot Section Of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

The Delhi Mumbai Expressway's 246 km Delhi - Dausa - Lalsot stretch was built for more than Rs 18,100 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugrated the Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway during his visit to Rajasthan's Dausa district, news agency ANI reported.

Highlighting the Centre's infrastructure investments during the previous nine years, PM Modi stated that the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor will be two strong pillars of growth for Rajasthan and the country.

"For the last 9 years, the central govt is continuously making huge investments in infrastructure. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor are going to become two strong pillars of progress for Rajasthan and the country," he said.

"In this year's budget, we have provisioned Rs 10 lakh crore for the infrastructure. This amount is five times the amount provisioned in 2014. Rajasthan is going to hugely benefit from this investment," he further said.

"Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas is our mantra for nation, we are making 'Samarth Bharat' while following it," he added it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the importance of infrastructure spending on Sunday, adding that new roads and airports, among other things, accelerate the country's prosperity.

According to the Prime Minister, infrastructure investment encourages additional investment.

"When modern roads, railway stations, metro, and airports are built, the country's progress gains momentum. Investment in infrastructure attracts even more investment. For the last 9 years, the central government is also continuously making huge investments in infrastructure," the Prime Minister said.

Speaking about the expressway, PM Modi stated: "I take great pride in dedicating the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to the nation today. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is one of the largest and most modern expressways. It presents the developed face of India. I congratulate the residents of Dausa and the countrymen."

"This modern connectivity will also benefit many tourist places like Sariska Tiger Reserve, Keoladeo and Ranthambore National Park, Jaipur, and Ajmer. Rajasthan has already been attractive for tourists from the country and abroad, now its attraction will increase further," PM Modi added elaborating on the benefits of the Expressway.

The Delhi Mumbai Expressway's 246 km Delhi - Dausa - Lalsot stretch was built for more than Rs 18,100 crore. The operationalization of this segment would significantly speed up regional economic growth and cut the distance between Delhi and Jaipur's airport from five to around three hours.

Earlier in an issued statement, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had said: “Prime Minister’s emphasis on the building of excellent road infrastructure as an engine of growth, development and connectivity in New India, is being realised by the construction of a number of ongoing world-class Expressways across the country. One such important project is Delhi Mumbai Expressway, whose first completed section, Delhi – Dausa – Lalsot, will be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister."

Delhi Mumbai Expressway

With a 1,386 km length, the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway would be the nation's longest motorway. It will cut the distance between Delhi and Mumbai by 12%, from 1,424 kilometres to 1,242 km, and will cut the travel duration in half, from 24 hours to 12 hours.

It would connect important towns like Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara, and Surat while passing through the six states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Along with spurs to future greenfield airports like Jewar Airport, Navi Mumbai Airport, and JNPT port, the Expressway would also service 93 PM Gati Shakti Economic Nodes, 13 ports, 8 major airports, and 8 multi-modal logistics parks (MMLPs).

The Expressway will have a catalytic effect on the growth trajectory of all surrounding areas, significantly aiding the nation's economic transition.
