PM Modi Congratulates Medal Winners At Asian Games

PM Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the 25m Pistol women's team, which clinched the coveted gold medal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Indian athletes for their exceptional performances at the Hangzhou Asian Games, where they secured a big medal haul, including two gold, two silver, and one bronze on Wednesday. 

PM Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the 25m Pistol women's team, which clinched the coveted gold medal. The triumphant team comprised accomplished markswomen, including Manu Bhaker, Rhythm Sangwan, and Esha Singh. Their victory not only showcased individual excellence but also underscored the outstanding results that can be achieved through remarkable teamwork.

In Hangzhou, Indian shooters were once again at the forefront. Sift Kaur Samra broke the world record to win the gold medal in the 50m rifle three positions. At the same event, Ashi Chouksey took bronze. They also won silver in the team event as a team.

The women's 25m pistol team, led by Manu Bhaker, also reached the top step of the podium. Esha Singh won silver in the individual category.

Anant Jeet Singh Naruka won the men's skeet individual silver medal, while the team also took bronze.

Vishnu Saravanan won bronze in the men's dinghy ICLA7 event, adding to his silver and bronze medals from sailing yesterday. 

Roshibina Devi Naorem won her wushu semi-final match, ensuring a silver medal in the women's 60kg event and improving on her performance from the 2018 Asian Games. 

Nikhat Zareen, a two-time world champion boxer, advanced to the Asian Games quarter-finals on her Asian Games debut. Shiva Thapa and Sanjeet, on the other hand, were unable to replace their openers.

Tennis had another wild ride today. A men's doubles medal is guaranteed for Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni. 

Sumit Nagal and Ankita Raina, on the other hand, were eliminated, effectively ending India's singles challenge. However, Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale advanced to the mixed doubles quarter-finals.

The men's squash team was defeated by Pakistan, while the women's team won two ties.
