PM Modi, CM Yogi Offer Condolences After 9 Killed In Boiler Blast At Chemical Factory In UP's Hapur

Prime Minister Modi said the Uttar Pradesh government is actively involved in the treatment of the injured and providing all possible help.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed his condolences after nine workers lost their lives in a boiler blast in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district.

Prime Minister Modi said the Uttar Pradesh government is actively involved in the treatment of the injured and providing all possible help.

“The accident in the chemical factory of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh is heart-wrenching. I express my condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in this. The state government is actively involved in the treatment of the injured and providing all possible help,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a tweet in Hindi.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.

“The loss of lives in the unfortunate incident of boiler explosion in a factory located in Hapur district is extremely heartbreaking. My condolences are with the bereaved families. The concerned officers have been directed to conduct relief and rescue operations at a speedy pace and provide proper treatment to the injured,” he wrote on the micro-blogging platform in Hindi.

Meanwhile, Hapur District Magistrate Medha Roopam said that a committee would be formed to look into the matter.

“Forensic team finding out what chemical has been retrieved (in the explosion at the manufacturing factory),” news agency ANI quoted Roopam as saying.

The District Magistrate also informed that nine people have been killed and 19 others injured in the explosion.

“The permission was for manufacturing electronics goods here, but (it) has to be probed what really was happening,” she said.
