'No One Has Entered Our Borders, None Of Our Posts Occupied': PM Modi Says After All Party Meet

PM Modi also said that though India lost 20 soldiers during the violent faceoff with Chinese Army, but they taught a lesson to whoever raised eye towards their motherland.

New Delhi: During his all party meeting called on Friday on the Chinese intrusion in the Galwan Valley and the killing of Indian soldiers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured Opposition parties and the country that none of country's post at the border has been occupied by anyone. Prime Minister also said that though India lost 20 soldiers during the violent faceoff with Chinese Army, but they taught a lesson to whoever raised eye towards their motherland. "In the past few years, to protect our borders, we have given importance to infrastructure development to protect our borders. The requirements of our armed forces, be it fighter planes, advanced helicopters, missile defence systems, that too is being given importance," PM Modi said. Further PM Modi also said that the areas which were not really monitored earlier, even there our jawans are now able to monitor and respond well. ALSO READ | Fake News Alert: Govt Has Not Instructed Prohibition Of Chinese Apps From App Stores Meanwhile, most of the opposition parties on Friday expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi in handling the India-China Line of Actual Control (LAC) issue while the Congress said that valuable time had been lost and asked what is the government doing next. "Movement of those which used to take place without any disruption earlier is now checked by our jawans, which at times leads to build-up of tension. Through better infrastructure, supply of material &essentials to jawans in the difficult terrain has become comparatively easier," PM said. Through the recently developed infrastructure, patrolling capacity at LAC has also increased. We are better informed about the developments at LAC and consequently are able to monitor and respond better, he added. The all party meeting started after paying tribute to the 20 Indian soldiers who were killed by Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Monday night in an unprecedented attack in Galwan Valley in Ladakh. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed the opposition leaders about the situation at the LAC. ALSO READ | CVoter Snap Poll: 93% Indians In Favour Of Boycotting Trade Relations With China Post Ladakh Face-Off During the meeting, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi asked Modi government whether there was any intelligence failure on the situation along the LAC and sought an assurance from the prime minister that status quo ante would be restored at the border and China will revert to its original position. Most of the opposition parties reposed their faith in the BJP government in handling the border issue with China. Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, Biju Janata Dal and Sikkim Kranti Morcha accused the Congress of trying to create differences.
