PM In Gujarat: Modi To Inaugurate Ayush Investment Summit In Gandhinagar, Address Tribal Convention In Dahod

PM Modi will inaugurate the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar today.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to his home-turf Gujarat and Wednesday is the final day of his tour. 

 Today, PM Modi will inaugurate the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation summit in Gandhinagar. The event aims to increase investments and showcase innovations in the field of traditional medicine. “It is a unique attempt to foster long-lasting partnerships, boost exports and nurture a sustainable ecosystem,” a government release stated. 

Later in the day, he will also visit tribal district Dahod to address a tribal convention and launch an irrigation project. 

On the second day of his visit, PM Modi on Tuesday inaugurated Banas Dairy's new dairy complex and potato processing plant, built with investment of over Rs 600 crore at Gujarat's Banaskantha.

He also interacted with women dairy farmers at the Banas dairy complex at Diyodar in Gujarat's Banaskantha district, and advised them to get their livestock vaccinated.

A large group of local women met Modi during the event, and shared with him their experiences of being part of the dairy industry and the support provided by Banas Dairy and the government.



"Our government got everybody vaccinated against COVID-19 free of cost. We do the same for the cattle. The cattle should be regularly vaccinated to protect them from diseases," the prime minister told the women.

PM Modi also dedicated to the nation the expanded facilities for the production of cheese products and whey powder at the Banas dairy plant in Palanpur, and dedicated Organic Manure and Biogas plant established at Dama, Gujarat.

Later in the day,  the PM also laid the foundation stone of WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM). He said during the event that the establishment of the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) here will user in an age of traditional medicine globally.

Along with PM Modi, the World Health Organization's Director-General Dr Tredos Ghebreyesus and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth also laid the foundation stone for the centre.


The centre will start the age of traditional medicine in the world in the next 25 years, Modi said, listing various benefits of traditional medicine.

He also thanked the United Nations for accepting India's proposal and declaring 2023 as the International Millet Year.

On Monday(April 18), Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Command and Control Centre for Schools in Gandhinagar.
