HIGHLIGHTS: Piyush Goyal On Walk Out Of Opposition From Rajya Sabha
Union Minister Piyush Goyal lashed out at the Opposition parties for walking out of Rajya Sabha on Monday after their request for discussion on the China border dispute was denied by the Chair. Goyal said that the House witnessed the frustration and complete lack of decorum from Opposition parties which reached a level where they don't believe in any rules in the functioning of Parliament.
“In Rajya Sabha today we witnessed the frustration and complete lack of decorum from Opposition parties. Their frustration reached a level where they don't believe in any rules/regulations in the functioning of Parliament,” Goyal said.
He said that the opposition parties are even denying the rulings of the Chair and behaving as an obstructionist and destructive.
AAP's Raghav Chadha Attacks Govt On Inflation
Amid the ongoing winter session of Parliament, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Monday took a jibe at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over the issue of inflation. Targeting the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, he said, "the Finance Minister had said that she does not eat onions, so she does not know the price of onion, what will the Finance Minister say about the price of milk, curd and flour?"
"The House that look at the situation of inflation, when the Modi government was formed in the year 2014, petrol was sold at Rs 55 per liter and today petrol is being sold at Rs 100 per litre," he added.
Raghav Chadha, the leader of the AAP, attacked the BJP in the Rajya Sabha for describing the assistance that his party provided to individuals as "revadi" and questioned how the subsidies provided by the Centre are any different, calling for a discussion on what constitutes freebies.
The Bharatiya Janta Party has used the freebies issue to attack the Aam Adami Party (AAP), particularly during the recent assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh as well as the polls for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Till December 14, 4.21 crore hospital admissions worth Rs 49,468.60 crore had been authorised under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said on Tuesday.
Launched in 2018, AB PM-JAY is the largest publicly funded health insurance scheme which provides a health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation to 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families.
"As on December 14, under AB PM-JAY, 4.21 crore hospital admissions worth Rs 49,468.60 crore have been authorised, which contributes to directly reduce the out-of-pocket expenditure of the public," Pawar said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.

Parliament's Winter Session is likely to conclude on December 23, a week before its schedule, reported PTI citing sources.
It added that the decision to end the Winter Session of Parliament ahead of schedule was taken at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of Lok Sabha.
