Absent From Lok Sabha, DMK's SR Parthiban Suspended. Govt Later Rolls Back 'Mistaken' Ouster

New Delhi: A total of 13 members were suspended from the Lok Sabha for disrupting the House proceedings on Thursday. The suspension of DMK MP SR Parthiban was revoked after he was "mistakenly" suspended.
His suspension was withdrawn after the government told Lok Sabha Speaker Om Biral that it was a case of “mistaken identity” as the member was not present in the House when the others created a ruckus.
A total of 13 MPs have been suspended from the Lok Sabha today.

With the DMK leader’s ouster being revoked, the number of Parliament members suspended for the remainder of the Winter Session stands at 14 – 13 from Lok Sabha and one from Rajya Sabha.
According to reports, the DMK MPs had complained that Parthiban was named among the suspended members when he was not even in the House, he is in Chennai.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said Parthiban's name was rolled back from the list of suspended Lok Sabha members earlier in the day as there was a mistake on the part of the staff in identifying the MP. "I have requested the speaker to drop the name of the member as it was a case of mistaken identity," Joshi said, reported PTI.
"Hibi Eden, T N Prathapan, Ramya Haridas, Dean Kuriakose, S Jothimani, V K Sreekandan, Benny Behanan, Mohd Jawed, P R Natarajan, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, K Subbarayan, S Venkatesan and Manickam Tagore B, MPs have been suspended from the service of the House...," a circular issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat read.
Earlier in the day, the Lok Sabha members were suspended after the House adopted two separate motions brought by the government. Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien was also suspended.
The Parliament members were suspended after they disrupted the House proceedings with protests demanding a statement from the government on the security breach on Wednesday.
