'Intruders Wanted Anarchy To Compel Govt To Meet Demands': Police On Parliament Security Breach Accused

Police have said the accused were willing to compel the government to meet their demands through their act on the anniversary of parliament terror attack.

As the investigation progresses in the Parliament security breach case, important details continue to emerge. Now, police have said that the mastermind of the attack, Lalit Jha revealed they all wanted to create anarchy in the country to force to government to meet their demands, reported PTI. Police told this to the Patiala House court during the hearing. Jha had surrendered at the Kartavya Path police state on Thursday evening.

"Jha disclosed that they wanted to create anarchy in the country so that they can compel the government to meet their demands," police told the city court.

"He took the phones (of other accused) to hide them and to destroy evidence as part of the larger conspiracy. He disclosed that he threw his phone away on way from Jaipur to Delhi," the police said adding that Jha's custodial interrogation was required for "in depth investigation to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the attack, involvement of other persons and to find the actual motive behind the attack".

Besides this, they also want to ascertain whether the accused had an association with any enemy country or terrorist organisation, police said. "We need him to confront the accused with each other, to locate the mobile phones, to take him to locate the hotel where stayed for four days, and to know the financial transaction and funding behind the attack," police further said, quoted PTI.

Jha had fled the scene on Wednesday after making videos of the security lapse and sent it to his NGO friend in West Bengal. The state police on Friday questioned this friend of Jha for hours.

Meanwhile, the police said they are planning to approach Parliament to seek permission to recreate the crime scene inside the House and outside the Parliament building. "Lalit Jha, who was arrested on Thursday, revealed during the interrogation that he had thrown his phone near the Delhi-Jaipur border and destroyed the phones of the other accused," PTI stated citing a police officer.

The court has sent Jha to seven-day police custody on Friday after his arrest on Thursday. Police have claimed in the Patiala House court that Jha admitted that the accused met many times to hatch the conspiracy to breach Parliament security.

"After the incident, he fled to Rajasthan where he stayed for two days and returned to Delhi last night," the officer added, quoted PTI. Te police are also questioning two more men (cousins) -- Kailash and Mahesh Kumawat -- for giving shelter to Jha when he fled to Nagaur in Rajasthan after the incident, the report added citing sources.
