No Namaz at Taj Mahal: Supreme Court
The apex court said that the historic Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world, so it should be kept in mind that no Namaz will be offered there.
New Delhi: Supreme Court on Monday has refused to permit the offering of Namaz at Taj Mahal. The apex court today said that the historic Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world, so it should be kept in mind that no Namaz will be offered there. The court further said that there are other places where namaz can be offered and therefore the monument should be avoided as the place to do so.
Earlier the top court had pulled the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for not taking care of the monument. The failure in taking steps to protect the iconic Taj Mahal, the Supreme Court had expressed its displeasure and had issued notices to the Uttar Pradesh government and the Centre to submit a draft vision document on how they wish to protect the Taj Mahal. The court had already asked Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ) authority to come up with a comprehensive action plan to protect the 17th century-built Mughal mausoleum.Supreme Court refuses to allow offering of Namaz at Taj Mahal.
